Vivienne Lia Joins Eintracht Frankfurt from Arsenal

Vivienne Lia has embarked on a new chapter in her football career after completing a permanent transfer from Arsenal to Eintracht Frankfurt, concluding her five-year stay in North London. The 19-year-old winger, who first joined Arsenal’s academy at the age of 14 in 2021, has shown significant potential throughout her youth career, steadily progressing through the ranks and making her first-team debut in February 2024 during a League Cup match against London City Lionesses.

During her time with the Gunners, Lia quickly made a name for herself as an exciting prospect, excelling within the youth teams and eventually training and traveling with the senior squad. In January 2025, she secured her first professional contract with Arsenal, marking a significant milestone in her development as a player. However, competition for places in the first team was fierce, prompting Lia to seek loan moves to gain essential first-team experience.

Lia’s initial loan spell in the 2024/25 season saw her join Southampton in the Women’s Super League 2, where she made nine appearances. She continued her development the following season with Nottingham Forest, featuring in 12 matches. After returning to Arsenal in February 2026, she sought further experience abroad with Hammarby in Sweden, showcasing her adaptability in different footballing environments.

In addition to her club achievements, Lia has also represented England at youth level, playing for both the Under-17 and Under-19 national teams. Her international experience has included participation in major tournaments such as the UEFA Women’s Under-17 Championship in 2023 and the Under-19 Championship in 2024. This journey has helped refine her skills and solidify her status as a promising talent in women’s football.

Now, with her transfer to Eintracht Frankfurt finalized, Lia is poised for the next stage of her career. The move represents a significant opportunity for the young winger to establish herself further in senior football. Having benefitted from her various loan spells, she is eager to make an impact in the Frauen-Bundesliga and continue her development in a new and challenging environment.
